Ghormeh Sabzi

Ghormeh Sabzi, the national dish of Iran, is a stew prepared with fresh herbs. Ghormeh means “fried”, while Sabzi is the Farsi word for herbs. From hundred years ago till this day it is cooked in almost the same way.

How is it served?

Ghormeh Sabzi like any other Khoresht (stew) is served with Persian steamed white rice (Kateh or Chelow). Sometimes lemon juice is added for flavoring.
