Kabab Barg

The recipe for Kabab Barg has been passed down through generations in Iran. The sirloin meat is skewered and barbecued over hot coals after being marinated in onions and olive oil. It is served as a main dish.

How is it served?

Warm butter is spread through Kabab Barg after it is well grilled. Kabab is served with grilled tomatoes and sometimes alongside with grilled peppers and a slice of raw onion. It is usually served with white steamed rice or Persian bread. Most importantly Sumac, a Middle Eastern spice, is used to flavor kababs.
