They were placed in four corners of The Square as the four main pillars of Safavid reign. Walking up the stairs of Ali Qapu Palace (center of Safavid dynasty) and watching Naghsh-e Jahan Square from the palace balcony is a lifetime experience that will make any tourist fall in love with Isfahan. And you will never regret walking up 200 flights of stairs to reach the hall of music. It is certainly well worth visiting. There is also the experience of singing under the tallest double shell dome with 52 meters height that has a worldwide reputation. After visiting Jameh Abbasi Mosque, we will walk toward Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque. A mosque named after the greatest Shia figure, Sheikh Lotfollah. This mosque was built under orders of Shah Abbas. Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque was supposed to be built as a school for teaching and the meetings of Sheikh Lotfollah. The onstruction of it stopped with his death and only the dome of this school was fully constructedwhich is now referred to as the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque. The mosque’s architect name is written on tile mosaics inside the Mihrab. It is one of the places you should not miss while visiting. After the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, through the archway Bazaar we move to a factory that belonged to Safavid-era. The oil extraction and distillation factory, called “Assarkhaneh-Shahi”, in which caravans would take oily and non-oily seeds (such as sesame and poppy) for extraction. After visiting the factory, walking through Bazaar is recommended. While walking through the Qeysarie Bazaar you can not only enjoy visiting segments of Bazaar like Timch-e, Chahar Sough and savory spice shops, but also buy special spices of Iran and souvenirs of Isfahan. The architectural style of Isfahan Bazaar is unique in its kind. At the end we will be visiting Chehel Sotun Palace. This is the only remaining palace from the Safavid-era; with artworks on the wall they depict specific historical scenes such as king’s entertainment ceremonies and receptions.

Of its beauties Nizam al-Mulk dome, Taj al-Mulk dome, the al-Mihrab Oliyatou (the altar of Master Hydar) and the Beit Al-Sabat shabestan, which is apparently known as Linen tent. Our next site will be a traditional bathhouse. Ali Gholi Agha Hammam located in Ali Gholi district which includes one Hammam, one ancient Persian gym (Zurkhaneh), a mosque and bazaar complex which dates back to the late Safavid-era. At this moment we can see the bath routine just like it was in Safavid- era. The bathroom consists of two men and women part, each of which includes a dressing room (Sarbine), interiors and sudatorium (garm khane-h). After that we will move to the next place which is Monar Jonban. The shaking minarets are responsible for the worldwide fame of Monar Jonban. Be careful!! Make sure to check the timing of it on our website so you wouldn’t miss it. At the end we will make a visit to Marnan Bridge which was re-bulit and repaired by Armenian Khaje Shafraz. With a glance at the structure of this bridge one can find the piers of Marnan Bridge are likely to the piers of Shahrestan Bridge.

After visiting the Music Museum of Isfahan where we can see a collection of traditional authentic Iranian musical instruments with live performance we move on to our next site which will be the Vank Cathedral.Iranian architecture mixed with Armenian architecture will be the first thing that catches your eye in Vank church. Iranian architecture in the Armenian Church… a dome with indigenous materials like clay, mud and brick. Before entering the church there is Khaje Khachator statue who was the first to bring printing press in Iran. First printed book in the Middle East was published with the help of this device. Glorious paintings inside the chapel, the April 24th memorial monumental sculpture, the smallest scripture in the world and written words on a piece of hair are the things that will surely draw your attention. After visiting the church and walking along Jolfa Street we will reach Atashkadeh Zartosht (this Place is only 400 meters away from the Vank Cathedral and it is especially used as a Holly Shrine for Isfahanian Zartoshts).
After passing ghetto district of Isfahan, we will visit a bridge named Si-o-Sh Pol which is the longest historical bridge in Isfahan. This bridge was instructed in the name of Shah Abbas (the first) to connect the southern part of Chahar Bagh to its eastern part. Si-o-Seh Pol Bridge was the main pivot of its time which is Safavid-era. Walking along Si-o-Seh Pol Bridge is a life time experience you will never forget about. The last bridge to be constructed in Isfahan, Safavid-era was Pol-e-Jouyi. In Isfahanian dialect it is pronounced Choubi. The bridge was exclusively constructed for the use of the king and his courtiers and they had access to the Haft Dast Palaces (seven handed palaces) through the bridge. Walking along this bridge would be a pleasant experience that we recommend.

Shah Abbas helped to build a district in Isfahan so the emigrants could reside there. In this tour, we will be visiting Saeb Tabrizi (one of the immigrants who moved to Isfahan with Shah Abbas) tomb in Tabriziha district. Saeb Tabrizi who was the greatest sonneteer of his century and the most famous poet of Safavid-era. After that we will explore Chahar Bagh Street on foot, this is a street which we recommend on this tour. This street is located on the south side of a street bridge named Si-o-Seh Pol. the construction of Chahar Bagh Abbasi Street was on the orders of Shah Abbas Safavi. The naming of this street comes from the many gardens that were placed in that district. Madar-i-Shah, a complex placed on this street, consisting of a Carvansarai, a Bazaar and a school. The Carvansarai and The Bazaar were dedicated to the school and school expenses were provided in this way. The school of Chahar Bagh was built in Iranian Islamic architecture, which was built on the orders of Shah Shalatan Hossein Safavi. It is a two-story school in a way that the lower chamber rooms were devoted to religion lessons and the upper ones for mathematics, medicine and astronomy lessons. Today, this school is in the hands of the seminary. After visiting the school, we arrive at the Shahid Rajaee Park; Seating in the middle of the park, is Hasht Behesht palace which was built during Shah Suleiman Safavid time. The palace beautiful gilded mosaics and mirror works will catch any tourist’s eyes.At the end, we will make a visit to the most beautiful historical bridge in Isfahan named Khajou Bridge. And we will be visiting the mausoleum of Professor Arthur pope which is located near the bridge (60m). Khajou Bridge is one of the most beautiful and the only tiled bridge in Isfahan. Then we will move to Shahrestan Bridge which is the oldest historical bridge in Isfahan. This cemetery is considered as one of the most important and most blessed cemeteries of the Muslim world, along with cemeteries such as Baqih Cemetery in Madinah Murehr, Abotaleb Cemetery in Mecca, and Wadi Islam in Najaf, Ashraf. After visiting the cemetery of Takht-e-Foulad we will be visiting the pigeon tower. Maybe it sounds odd for a city like Isfahan to have towers for pigeons. In a district named Mardavij there is a pigeon tower where pigeons could fly inside the tower, their guano was collected in the tower and then used for farmlands that used to be located in Mardavij. Our next site will be Mount Sofeh. Bird watching, Telecabin and viewing Isfahan landscape from a unique angle are on the list of things we will be doing on this tour. After that, a visit to the beautiful Nazhvan Park. Then we will be visiting the historic houses of the city of Isfahan.
