In most of the Persian ceremonies (such as Nowruz and Yalda night), family gatherings, cooking traditional sweets (including Gaz, Ghotab, Baslagh and so on) and even as an ingredient in some of the Iranian meals and deserts, a variety of nuts are used. The process of roasting and distribution of nuts is one of the early occupations of Iranians that has been around for several years. See More…
The process of seasoning nuts starts from collecting raw nuts from the best gardens of almonds, pistachios and chestnuts around the country. Then, in special workshops, the collected nuts are roasted through a complete old-fashion ritual. At the end, special spices like saffron, salt and pepper are added to it which gives an extraordinary Iranian scent and flavor to it.
In this tour, we will take you through some of the vintage nuts shops and workshops in Isfahan so you can watch the process from up close and get involved in it.
Even the thought of being in nuts workshops which used to be run by the fathers of the current shopkeepers is exciting. Old fellowmen who are following the steps of their fathers with joy, love and are actually making a living out of it.
